Requires a permit to hike, this protected grove of some truly epic sized Redwoods is well worth the (potentially) muddy downhill trek to get to. This also allows a more isolated feel. When I visited, a massive tree had fallen across the trail during the atmospheric river event from a few days prior.

Collateral damage from the recent tree fall, with several other downed trees and small shrubs surrounded by unphased Redwoods that were far enough away.

A portion of the Tall Trees Grove, with some spectacularly large Redwoods reaching skyward.

This was also the final hike I did down in the Redwoods, so the next set will be headed back up along the Oregon coast, before doing another time jump. Should freshen up the posts a little, as although the Redwoods are amazing, seeing tall trees every day repeatedly gets a little samey.
